The AMBTIF now serves:

Core Program Recipients: The middle and high school rowing programs chosen have a robust diversity-focused mission with a strong desire to offer competitive racing, youth development, and academic enrichment into their programs. They have a strong rowing structure but are very much in need of a brand, financial, and community engagement support.

Yearly Success Metrics

  • Rowing

    Increase on the water time for athletes

    Supply additional equipment (the Hudson AMBTIF boats/Concept 2 ergs/blades) to increase rowing opportunities for under-resourced athletes

    To have a higher retention rate of athletes of color at the end of the year

    Partner community and core programs together to create scrimmages and events among each other

    To have at least one paid coach of color (rowing/weightlifting/community liaison) on staff

    To have successfully provided rowing, mentorship, and academic support for all under-resourced athletes

  • Community

    To officially partner with at least two local schools or community centers to recruit youth of color to the sport all year round

    Increase the number of board members and volunteers from the community of color we serve

    To host a large community-based rowing event for youth, parents, educators, community leaders and potential funders to bring more visibility to the program

    Create summer camp opportunities for competitive athletes

    Find a yearly corporate sponsor with and for the core program with the backing of AMBTIF

  • Education

    To have at least one out of city college trip or regatta for under-resourced athletes

    All athletes have full access to tutors and academic support

    College coach introduction opportunities for athletes to be recruited to college

  • Wellness

    To have received proper DEI, coaches training, and SEL training to best serve the athletes

    All athletes learn proper rowing on the water

    All Athletes have taken swim test

    Motivational Speakers for athletes

    For all athletes to have access to boathouse gym facility and Nutrition knowledge
